In a short YouTube video from the Collaborative Research Team to study Psychosocial Issues in Bipolar Disorders (CREST.BD), a community-based participatory research group located at the University of British Columbia, tips for improving physical fitness and diet are shared as methods to improve quality of life in bipolar disorders.
Peer Researcher Victoria Maxwell, who is living well with a Bipolar Disorder, demonstrates fitness and dietary choices while the video’s narrator CREST.BD Network Lead Dr. Erin Michalak describes healthy steps to take, how to make them easier if you struggle, and their evidence-based benefits.
CREST.BD offers a series of videos and resources to self-manage many aspects of bipolar disorders, all available at their BD Wellness Centre, as well as a useful quality of life assessment tool.
(Full disclosure: I’m a part-time Peer Researcher for CREST.BD but was not involved with making the video series and CREST.BD did not ask me to write this post.)
